Takaharu Yamagami- General Partner
Mr. Yamagami joined
Techno-Venture Co., Ltd. as the General Manager (General Partner
equivalent) of the Investment Department, Venture Capital Division in
1997. Techno-Venture is
Japan's oldest venture capital company.
The Company's funds hold investments in over 100
technology-based companies and total in excess of 20 billion yen,
making Techno-Venture Japan's largest independent venture capital
company. Today,
there are more than 100 venture capital firms operating in Japan, but
less than 10 are truly independent. His past investments
include: Pogo.com, Inc. (previously known as TE Networks, Inc.),
Adknowledge, Inc., Symyx Technologies, Argonaut Technologies, Inc.,
Accumetrics, Inc., and EOS Biotechnology, Inc. Mr.
Yamagami left Techno in January 2000 to join CrossBridge.
Prior to joining
Techno-Venture Co., Ltd., he successfully held senior management
positions at NKK Corporation including the Treasury Division
(Project Finance); New York Subsidiary (Corporate Venture Finance);
and NK Lease Corporation (Venture Leasing).
While at NKK he was responsible for the company's strategic
investment in Silicon Graphics, Raster Graphics, and Paradigm
Technology.
Mr. Yamagami received
his BA in Commerce from Hitotsubashi University with distinction; MS
in Financial Studies from The University of Strathclyde, the United
Kingdom; and MS from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Sloan
School of Management.
