Shinji Miyashita- General Partner

Mr. Miyashita joined Techno-Venture Co., Ltd. as an Investment Manager (General Partner equivalent) in 1988.  His past investments at Techno-Venture include: Network Express, Inc., (acquired by Cabletron and later spun-off to become Avail Networks, Inc.), Quickturn Design Systems, Inc., Photon Dynamics, Inc., Raster Graphics, Inc., Extensity, Inc., GenPharm International, Inc., and The Lightspan Partnership, Inc.  Network Express, Inc. was the first U.S. company to be exclusively backed by Japanese venture capital money.  Because of Mr. Miyashita’s involvement the company was later successfully listed on the U.S. NASDAQ. He resigned from Techno in late 1999 to help establish CrossBridge.

Prior to Techno-Venture, Mr. Miyashita served as Chief Editor of Techno JASDAQ IPO News for six years.  Techno JASDAQ IPO News is a Japanese newsletter for small to medium size businesses interested in listing on JASDAQ.  Other operating experience includes work in the International Operation Deptartment. for Mitsui Bank, Ltd., now Sakura Bank, Ltd. 

Mr. Miyashita received his BA in Economics from Rikkyo (St.Paul’s) University with Honors. The International Center at St. Paul also  sponsored Mr. Miyashita’s studies in International Relations at Nijmegen University in the Netherlands. In addition, Mr. Miyashita attended the  European Studies Programs at J.F. Kennedy Institute at Tilburg University in the Netherlands, sponsored by Indiana University School of Business.
